Abie and Os are here seen collecting their hammocks from the Jaunty (the Master-at-Arms) who is removing them from the hammock netting, where they are stored during the day, to give some protection against small arms fire from an enemy.
The Master-at-Arms, being the ship’s policeman, is/was universally not the favourite petty officer on board, amongst the other ranks.
NOTE: I know many of you log on regularly,to check on our heroes’ progress, or lack of it, but not many of you contact me with a comment (I do get hundreds of spam each day, so someone likes me), which makes me wonder whether or not you want me to persist in this drivel. Please let me know.
